Answer: When you purchase an AllQuizzes.Net Access Pass, you will be
taken to a Thank You page, which will provide you with a temporary User Name and Password that will
allow you to gain immediate access to the quizzes. Within 8 hours (usually within 1-2 hours)
of the time I receive notification of your payment from PayPal, you will receive
an AllQuizzes.Net Welcome Email. The Welcome Email will
be sent to you from pollywick@comcast.net and will contain important log-in information.
Your User Name and Password will provide you and your current students with access to:
~ All of the Online, Self-Grading Whole Book Quizzes listed in the Whole Book Quizzes section.
~ All of the Online, Self-Grading Chapter Quiz Sets listed in the
Chapter Quizzes section.
~ All of the Online, Self-Grading Standards Based Math Quizzes listed in the

~ All new Online, Self-Grading Quizzes added to the above sections during the period of time
that your Access Pass remains active.
2. Question: How many questions are included on each whole book quiz?
Answer:
Whole Book Quizzes contain between 10-40 Multiple Choice Questions.
Chapter Quizzes and Book Section Quizzes contain between 5-15 questions each. Newer Chapter

Multiple Choice Quzizes.
3. Question: What are the technical requirements for viewing the quizzes
on my computer?

4. Question: Are there any limitations on the use of the quizzes?
Answer: Yes. All of the quizzes at AllQuizzes.Net
(including the Sample Quizzes, the Chapter and Book Section Quizzes, and the Whole Book Quizzes)
are protected by copyright and can be used for classroom use only. Reproduction and/or redistribution
of the quizzes in any form is strictly prohibited.
By the same token, the User Name and Password you receive when you purchase an Access Pass is for your use
only and should not be publicized or given out to others in any form. Please do post your User Name and Password
on any kind of webpage. Posting your User Name and Password on a webpage will result in temporary de-activation of your Access Pass until the issue can be resolved.
5. Question: Can I share my Access Pass with another teacher?
Answer: No. Each Access Pass is to be used only by one
teacher and by that teacher's current students.
6. Question: I am a teacher, and I would like to have my students take the quizzes at home. Is this
allowed?
Answer:
No. If you are
a teacher and you have purchased an Access Pass to use with your current students, your students
may access the quizzes on up to 5 classroom computers and 30 computers in your school's
computer lab. If you would like for your students to take the quizzes at home, each student's parent
must purchase a personal Access Pass so that his or her child can access the quizzes
on a home computer.
7. Question: I am a parent, and I would like to share my User Name and Password with
my child's teachers. Is this allowed?
Answer:
No. If you are a parent and you have purchased an Access Pass to use with your child, your child
may access the quizzes on up to 5 home computers. If your child's teacher would like to use the quizzes
in the classroom, she will have to purchase her own Access Pass.
8. Question: I am a parent volunteer who coaches a Battle of the Books team. Can I
purchase an Access Pass so that I will be able to quiz the team without me having to read all of the books to get questions for them?
Answer: You sure can!
Many parents purchase Access Passes for a variety of reasons, including homeschooling parents
and parents who simply want to work with their kids to improve reading comprehension.
I also have several teachers and parents who use the service to assist them in coaching their
Battle of the Books teams.
9. Question: What should I do if I find an error in one of the quizzes?
Answer: If you find an error in one of the quizzes, I would greatly appreciate it if you would
email me. That way, I can correct the error right away.
10. Question: I want my students to read books on the AllQuizzes.Net Whole Book quiz list and then to take the quizzes as a comprehension check.
I would like to keep the quizzes secure so that the students are not accessing the
quizzes at home, studying the quizzes, and then taking the quizzes in class.
Is there a way that I can keep my students from accessing the quizzes at home?
Answer: Yes. The best way to keep the Book Quizzes secure
is to refrain from giving out the User Name and Password. This means that when you are ready for a student to
take a quiz, you will have to enter the User Name and Password on the Menu page for the quiz being taken.
As long as you do not give out the User Name and Password, students will only be able to
access the quizzes in the classroom.
11. Question: What is your refund policy?
Answer: To request a refund, please
contact me through email.
Refunds are prorated at the rate of $1.50 per day, beginning with the seventh day
of the date you made your purchase. Your refund will be issued through PayPal.
12. Question: How is the AllQuizzes.Net program different from
the Renaissance Program (or the A.R. Program)? I am a teacher, and I already have access to the A.R. program through
my district. Will AllQuizzes.Net still be a useful resource for me?
Answer:
The quizzes provided at AllQuizzes.Net are similar to the A.R. quizzes provided at
Renaissance in that each quiz contains 10-20 Multiple Choice Questions
that test a student's comprehension of a given book.
However, the quizzes provided at AllQuizzes.Net are not duplicates of A.R.
quizzes. I personally read each and every one of the books included in my program, and
I write original quizzes for each book.
AllQuizzes.Net differs from the A.R. program in at least two significant ways:
a. AllQuizzes.Net DOES NOT have nearly the number of quizzes available that the
A.R. program has. (Renaissance offers quizzes over thousands of books.) Also, AllQuizzes.Net
DOES NOT provide automatic individual tracking of points and progress for students.
b. AllQuizzes.Net DOES offer high-quality, original, self-grading, online whole book comprehension quizzes
along with a growing selection of chapter and book section quizzes.
If you already have access to the Renaissance (A.R.) program through your school--and you are not interested
in chapter and book section quizzes--then AllQuizzes.Net is not going to be a valuable resource
for you. The Renaissance A.R. program is a wonderful, highly effective program. However, many school districts
cannot afford to purchase access to it. AllQuizzes.Net is meant to provide an affordable, high-quality alternative for
school districts, homeschooling parents, and others who cannot afford to purchase access to the
Renaissance program but would still like to use online comprehension quizzes as a way to help
build reading comprehension.
AllQuizzes.Net is also a very useful resource for parents who would like to monitor their child's comprehension
of a given book before their child takes an A.R. test at school. Students often experience a great deal of
anxiety before taking an A.R. test at school. Taking and passing an alternative test before taking a test
at school can help children to feel more confident, and thus to perform better, on high-stakes tests
in the classroom.
One of the ways in which AllQuizzes.Net really shines is in its offering of online, self-grading Chapter Quiz Sets.
Middle School Reading Teachers working with students who struggle with motivation and/or reading comprehension skills will
find the chapter quizzes to be of tremendous value in the classroom. Rather than having a student sit through
an independent reading class and claiming to make little to no progress in the book he or she is reading, a
teacher can assign one or more chapters at a time and then hold the student accountable for reading those
chapters by asking the student to take a short, online quiz over the material that he or she read. When students
are given a task that they see as do-able, they are far more likely to engage with the task and also to experience
success in completing it. When students feel successful (and they will be successful using this approach), they
are far more willing to take on new assignments and challenges, and their reading comprehension skills (not
to mention their love for reading) will soar. Using this approach, teachers are able to provide solid, differentiated
instruction with little to no burden to their already heavy workloads.
13. Question: What qualifications do you have in the
field of education?
Answer: I received a B.S. in Elementary Education from
Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois in 1983, and I have five years of experience teaching
in the public schools: one year teaching third grade, two years teaching sixth grade
language arts, one year as a media school specialist at an elementary school, and one year teaching seventh and eighth grade reading.
In addition to a major in Elementary Education, I also have Endorsements in both Reading and Language Arts. This means
that in addition to being licensed to teach grades 1-6, I am also licensed to teach
reading, English, and language arts in grades 1-9.
I have written and won several educational grants for schools (including a Reading is Fundamental
Grant in 2005), and I am the author of Quizzes for 220 Great Children's Books,
published by Libraries Unlimited. For more information, please see the about me
page.
14. Question: What should I do if I purchased an Access Pass but did not
receive a Welcome Email within 8 hours after making my purchase?
Answer: Your Welcome Email will be sent from pollywick@comcast.net.
If you have NOT received a Welcome Email within 8 hours after making your purchase, please check the following:
a. The most common reason that a customer does not receive his or her Welcome Email is because
he or she is no longer using the email address that is associated with his or her PayPal account.
If you have a PayPal account and made your purchase with your PayPal account, please check
to see that the email address you have associated with your PayPal account is the email
address you are currently using. This is a common error. When I receive notification from PayPal
about your payment, I am given the email address that you have associated with your PayPal
account. Your Welcome Email will be sent to that email address. If you are no longer using that
email address, you need to email me so that I will know
the email address at which you would like to receive your Welcome Email.
b. If you do not have a PayPal account and you made your purchase with a credit card through PayPal,
check your receipt to make sure that you typed your email address correctly. If not, you will need to
contact me through email so that I will be able to send you your Welcome Email.
c. Check your Screened or Spam mail
folder to make sure the Welcome Email did not inadvertently get placed there.
If you have checked the above, and you still haven't received your Welcome Email,
please contact me through email. Don't feel like you have
to wait for a day or two days or more. I usually send out Welcome Emails within an hour or two after I have
received confirmation of a payment. If you haven't received your Welcome Email for 8 hours after making a payment,
that means that for one reason or another, the Welcome Email that was sent out to you did not go through.
In this case, I definitely want to hear from you.
Customer service is very important to me, and I'd much rather have you inquire early about a Welcome
Email that you haven't received promptly than have you wait for 72 hours or longer, wondering
why you have received no response. If you let me know right away,
I can work with you to quickly resolve the issue.
15. Question: I am an employee of an after-school tutoring
program. May I purchase an Access Pass at the regular rate?
Answer: No. Only public and private school teachers
and/or parents may purchase an Access Pass to be used with their current students only.
16. Question: Will you license your quizzes to be used in a
product, book, or online program that is separate from AllQuizzes.Net?
Answer: No. The quizzes will only be licensed for
use at the AllQuizzes.Net website.
17. Question: Once I have purchased an Access Pass, may
I link directly to the quizzes from my classroom web page?
Answer: You may not link directly to the quizzes. However, you
may link to the Chapter Quizzes Menu Page or to the
Whole Book Quiz Menu Page. Please note that you may
also not provide, on your web page or in any other public forum, the User Name and Password your
students need to sign into the quizzes. Publicizing your User Name and Password
is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate termination of your account.
